Cure

The purpose of this test is to determine whether the coating has been stoved correctly, the powder coating may look good, it also may feel good, but if the powder has not been in the oven for the correct time, at the correct temperature, the powder will be very brittle, not only will the coating be easily damaged, but the coating will break down if used outside.

A simple test with a strong solvent is used, if the coating has cross linked correctly, the solvent will not effect the film, if it is under cured, the solvent will remove some of the paint.
