Priming comes in several forms, it could be a two pack etch primer, a zinc powder primer, a zinc wet primer etc.

Primers used in powder coatings are normally sprayed.

There are different reasons for using a primer, the product may be too large to fit in a pretreatment system, or a pretreatment system may not be available.
